Drainage of agricultural fields is the most cost effective initial improvement for crop production on poorly drained soils.  Farmers are faced with the challenge of draining fields to improve crop growth but also minimizing any pollutant losses to Minnesota's surface waters.  The research described here addresses this challenge.
